WRITTEN QUESTION by John Attard-Montalto (PSE) , Louis Grech (PSE) and Joseph Muscat (PSE) to the Commission

Subject: Waste recycling plant in Marsascala

Various actions are pending on this matter, including:

—	two appeals pending before the Board of the Environmental and Planning Authority;
—	two cases before the Civil Court, one of which is co-institutional;
—	an investigation by the EU Infringements Unit; and
—	an investigation regarding Petition No 0954/2006, which was declared admissible;

Despite this, the Maltese authorities are carrying on with work on the abovementioned plant, which will be financed in part by the Cohesion Funds.

We wish to remind the Commission about the question of waste we spoke about.

Once we hear from you, we will immediately present the case before the Commission.

Could the Commission please pass on the information to us as soon as possible?
