Statement by the European Parliament President David Sassoli
“It is with great satisfaction that we close the negotiations with the Council and Commission on the Recovery and Resilience Facility. The European Parliament secured an increase from 10% to 13% of the money available in advance from the Recovery Fund. This means that the countries that need it most will have money available at the most difficult and acute moment of the crisis.
“I also want to stress that we have achieved a closer link between this funding and the goals of the Green Deal, digital transformation, cohesion and social solidarity. I thank the European Parliament’s negotiating team for their excellent work. In these difficult times, Parliament continues to be on the side of citizens.”
