UK: Economic indicators and trade with EU

The UK withdrew from the European Union on 31 January 2020. From 1 February, it is a third country and therefore considered as such in this publication. The trade figures shown concern a period in which the UK was an EU Member State, whereas the future picture could vary significantly depending on the outcome of trade negotiations between the EU and the UK.

The Social and Employment Situation in Spain

This document describes the situation of employment policies in Spain and assesses their recent effects on the labour market in the context of the employment upturn that started in 2013. The impact of unemployment on poverty and the population at risk of social exclusion and the population in a situation of dysfunctional mobility are analysed, highlighting the changes caused in his composition by the impact of the economic crisis.

Media freedom in Russia peaked in the 1990s after censorship was abolished in 1988. However, since then the country has fallen to the bottom of the international league tables compiled by NGOs Freedom House and Reporters without Borders. There has been a sharp deterioration over the last few years, with restrictive new legislation and repression of the few dissenting voices left.
