21-09-2021 14:00 - Putting the 'e' in e-Health

Seminář - STOA

Více podrobností

Scientific input is crucial to ensure that health policy initiatives lead to better public health for patients. Awareness of this has been accelerated greatly by the need for a shared response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Countries collect public health information (i.e. shots, underlying conditions, allergies, etc.) via databases produced by hospitals, however there can be database distribution issues. Some actors consider blockchain technology a good solution for patient data management to become more secure, immutable and verifiable. With this event, STOA would like to bring together the best-placed actors to facilitate a fruitful exchange between scientists and policy-makers. The aim is to tackle an industry-wide and very urgent issue - how to safeguard patient health records and accelerate transparency and (cost) efficiency in health care.
