Precarious employment in Europe: patterns, trends and policy strategies

23-08-2016

This note by Policy Department A gives a summary of the study "Precarious employment in Europe: Patterns, trends and policy strategies". The study explores the risk of precariousness of different types of contract, using a set of indicators with a connection to quality of work. It finds that so-called "standard" contracts show the lowest risk levels, but have been continuously decreasing over the last decade. In the longer term they may be outnumbered by other types of employment relationships.
