Ακροάσεις
Σύμφωνα με το άρθρο 193 του Κανονισμού, οι επιτροπές μπορούν να διοργανώνουν ακροάσεις με τη συμμετοχή εμπειρογνωμόνων, όταν αυτό κρίνεται ουσιώδους σημασίας για το έργο τους επί ενός συγκεκριμένου θέματος. Οι ακροάσεις μπορούν να διοργανώνονται από κοινού, από δύο ή περισσότερες επιτροπές. Οι περισσότερες επιτροπές διοργανώνουν ακροάσεις τακτικά, εφόσον αυτό τους επιτρέπει να ενημερώνονται για τις απόψεις εμπειρογνωμόνων και να συζητούν μαζί τους για τα σημαντικότερα θέματα. Εργαστήρια
Τα εργαστήρια διοργανώνονται από τα θεματικά τμήματα και τη Μονάδα Διερεύνησης Επιστημονικών Προοπτικών (STOA) και η διαχείρισή τους πραγματοποιείται σύμφωνα με τον δημοσιονομικό κανονισμό. Δεν είναι απαραίτητο να λαμβάνουν χώρα δημοσίως αλλά είναι δυνατό να πραγματοποιούνται στο πλαίσιο συνεδριάσεων επιτροπών.
