The annual 'Future Shocks' series seek to provide up-to-date, objective, and authoritative information on global risks, and highlight specific risks with a potentially strong impact on the EU, and analyses the existing capabilities, resilience and possible responses of the EU system in the face of these multiple challenges. This EPRS event featuring the 2023 edition of the 'Future Shocks' study will be opened by Marc Angel, EP Vice-President. Then Étienne Bassot, Director of the EPRS Members' Research Service will present the outcomes of the study, highlighting major risks for the EU in the coming decade and their possible consequences. Wolfgang Hiller, Director for Impact Assessment and Foresight will moderate a panel of 5 policy analysts on the main risks and responses; followed by questions and answers.
