On Tuesday, 23 September 2025, the Committee on Fisheries held a public hearing entitled "Contribution of EU fisheries and aquaculture to food security and healthy diets in the context of climate change adaptation".
The aim of the hearing is to highlight challenges, such as ongoing geopolitical tensions or climate change, and to develop adaptation strategies, such as maximising seafood production, a reduction in reliance on imported seafood, reaching increased autonomy.
