Over the last two years, media freedom in Turkey has deteriorated rapidly. Although the EU expressed support for the government in the face of the failed military coup in July 2016, it is now concerned about respect for fundamental values in Turkey.

The European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs is developing the LIBE Legislative Mapping Project, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE). This long-term project consists of a comprehensive up-to-date overview of existing and emerging EU legislation and related information in the field of justice and home affairs (JHA) in the form of an online tool for MEPs and their staff.

El objetivo general del presente estudio es comprender: • qué organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONG) ejercen una mayor influencia en la formulación de políticas de la Unión mediante su colaboración con las instituciones europeas; • qué ONG reciben la mayor financiación mediante subvenciones de la Comisión Europea (Comisión); • hasta qué punto las «grandes ONG» cumplen la normativa, los reglamentos y los estándares; • la transparencia y la rendición de cuentas en el sector de las ONG.
