Käesolevas uuringus vaadeldakse teekatete seisukorda ja kvaliteeti ELis ning viimastel aastatel riikide teehooldustegevuse eelarvetes täheldatud suundumusi, eesmärgiga vaadata läbi regulaarse teehoolduse puudumise majanduslikud ja ohutusalased tagajärjed. Autorid uurivad tuvastatud registreeritud muutuste peamisi põhjuseid ja nendest tulenevat mõju liiklusohutusele ning soovitavad selle põhjal rea meetmeid ja parimaid tavasid, et aidata säilitada ELi teekatete ohutust ja kvaliteeti.
