Cette étude recense les travaux effectués sur la situation des femmes au foyer dans l'UE; sont notamment examinés l'évolution du concept de travail ainsi que le travail non rémunéré des femmes au foyer dans les États membres.

This study has two aims. Firstly, it gives an overview of the primary legislation, the Community legislation in force, the various action programmes in operation and the case law of the Court of Justice in existence before the signature of the Treaty of Amsterdam. It also includes as an annex all the Community legislation in force up to now, Declaration No 28 annexed to the Treaty of Amsterdam on Article 119(4) (future Article 141) and the list of judgments.
