Proceedings of the Workshop on "Building the European Digital Infrastructure"

The workshop focussed on key aspects related to the European Commission (EC) proposals for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on guidelines for trans European telecommunications networks and repealing Decision No 1336/97/EC. Digital infrastructures are at the forefront of the flagship initiative "Digital Agenda for Europe" in the Europe 2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The EU has set ambitious key targets for broadband roll-out and take-up; from here the need to ensure and to facilitate investment into new very fast open internet networks that are going to be the backbone of the future economy.
