Almost as much as 2020, the last twelve months have been another 'year of living dangerously' - an intense period of shifts and shocks that has kept the world on tenterhooks and involved many hopes, surprises and disappointments. This annual EPRS roundtable draws on the insights of six leading think-tankers interested in Europe to reflect on what has really mattered- [...]

[...] not just in the protracted health pandemic and the associated economic recession, but on a range of wider geo-political, environmental and social fronts, in 2021. Six analysts will each pick out three key events or developments and assess their long-term importance - from the advent of a new US President and election of a new German government, to rapidly-rising awareness of climate change and extreme weather events, to the disruption of supply chains and the way that the rise of China is reformatting a wide range of global issues.
