The current EU rules provide to haulage companies the possibility to use hired vehicles, but also allow Member States to restrict this. In base alle attuali norme dell'UE le imprese di trasporto possono utilizzare veicoli noleggiati, ma gli Stati membri possono anche imporre restrizioni in merito. Nel 2017 la Commissione europea ha proposto di allentare tali restrizioni.
