Tyrimas 15-04-2010

This study explores the role played by the European Parliament during the European Convention from an internal and institutional point of view. The activities of the actors within the Parliament and the bodies representing the Parliament at the Convention, including the political groups, are scrutinised in order to elaborate some principles for the convening of future Conventions, with an emphasis on the EP's institutional role. The study evaluates the collaboration between the MEPs taking part in the Convention with various mandates and those in the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, between MEPs and the responsible services such as the President's office, the task force of the General Secretariat or political groups, and among the services charged to assist Parliament's delegation to the Convention.
