Europos maisto saugos politikos tikslai yra dvejopi: saugoti žmonių sveikatą ir vartotojų interesus ir skatinti sklandų Europos bendrosios rinkos veikimą. Todėl Europos Sąjunga rūpinasi, kad maisto produktų ir pašarų higienos, gyvūnų sveikatos, augalų sveikatos ir maisto taršos išorinėmis medžiagomis prevencijos srityse būtų nustatyti kontrolės standartai ir kad jų būtų laikomasi. Sąjunga taip pat reglamentuoja maisto produktų ir pašarų ženklinimą.

During the March 2016 plenary session, a debate and vote will be held on the draft regulation establishing a new aid scheme for the supply of fruit and milk in schools. If adopted, the scheme will bring new impetus to efforts to encourage school children to eat healthily.

This note seeks to provide an initial analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the European Commission's Impact Assessment (IA) accompanying the proposal on the aid scheme for the supply of fruit and vegetables, bananas and milk in the educational establishments. This report summarises the presentations and discussions at the Workshop on ‘Trans Fats’, held at the European Parliament in Brussels, on Tuesday, 5 November, 2013. The aim of the workshop was to discuss the risks posed by trans fats in human health and to exchange views on the existing solutions to this issue. The workshop was hosted by MEP Ms Glenis WILLMOTT (S&D, UK), Co-chair of the Health Working Group within the ENVI Committee.
