This external study tries to clarify the impact of regulation on the international competitiveness of the biotechnology industry in Europe and the USA respectively and to assess the current and future international competitiveness of this sector in Europe and the USA. Comparative in nature, the study also analyses differences and similarities in industrial and research organisation between Europe and the United States.
