I denna studie beskrivs och analyseras hur, varför, när och var industri- och landsbygdsturismen utvecklades i Europa. I studien diskuteras aktuella frågor på dessa områden och föreslås lösningar på hur båda dessa sektorer kan breddas och göras mer livskraftiga och hållbara för att ge större ekonomiska, miljömässiga och sociokulturella fördelar för de berörda lokalsamhällena och för Europa som helhet.
