Calls for tenders
The European Parliament, in cooperation with other EU institutions and bodies, signs contracts for the provision of translation services following the publication of calls for tenders in accordance with the rules on public procurement laid down in the Financial Regulation.
The European Parliament organises such calls for tenders periodically according to need. The contracts last for one year at a time and are renewable annually up to a maximum of five years.
The contracts concluded cover the translation of documents relating to the interests and activities of the European Union from multiple source languages into the 24 official languages of the European Union.
The contracting authority evaluates the tenders and then awards the framework contracts to the successful tenderers. The evaluation procedure seeks to identify the tenders offering the best value for money for each target language, taking into account the quality of the tender relative to the highest quality tender evaluated, and the price per standard page quoted relative to the lowest price of all the tenders evaluated.
The conditions for participation in these tender procedures are set out in the tender documents published together with the draft contract and the tender specifications.
The European Parliament will publish future calls for tenders for translation services on the TED portal. Relevant information will also be available on the Funding & Tender Opportunities Portal:
