MacCormick European Lecture

The Royal Society of Edinburgh's annual MacCormick European Lecture is named after the late Professor Sir Neil MacCormick, a former Member of the European Parliament, in recognition of the contribution made by him to Scottish and European politics and the international work of the RSE.  This year's lecture, which was supported by the European Parliament Office in Edinburgh, was given by BBC journalist Allan Little.  For over two decades, Allan Little has been reporting the changing shape of our world and in his lecture he tried to make sense of the current crisis in Europe, especially the euro crisis, by putting it in the context of Europe's history.  Along with Jane Beresford, Allan Little was awarded the annual UACES Thomson Reuters Reporting Europe Prize this year.
