Per grew up in the west Swedish region of Värmland and studied Law, psychology and German at the University of Göteborg before moving to Germany to complete a post-graduate programme at the European Institute of Saarland University.

Having started his career as a trainee Judge in the Swedish courts he moved to Brussels where he worked as an EU-affairs consultant before joining the European Civil Service. After 5 years in the European Commission and the European Data Protection Supervisor he is delighted to work for the European Parliament in Edinburgh as Head of Office.

Per speaks Swedish, English, German, French, Norwegian and Danish. After office hours you will often find him somewhere on the football pitch, on the ice rink or attending rock concerts. He also enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.


Helen Ross

Helen was born in Inverness, grew up in Morayshire and graduated with a MA in European Studies from Aberdeen University. After graduation, she moved to Brussels to work for the European Trade Union Confederation, but in 2005 was recruited to work in the European Parliament in DG Internal Policies.

Since then she has also gained experience in the European Commission, as well as the European External Action Service and, after more than 10 years in Brussels, was thrilled at the opportunity to return home to Scotland in May 2013 to take up the position of Communications Assistant.

Helen speaks French, German and Spanish and enjoys travelling, photography and yoga.


Giulia Piccionetti

Giulia grew up in the countryside near Rome, Italy. She studied Communication at Roma Tre University where, fascinated by British Journalism, for her degree thesis she analysed several English articles and their influence on the public. Her passion led her to the UK to complete her studies with a post-graduate programme at the London School of Journalism. After working at the Italian Consulate of Liverpool, she was selected for a traineeship at the European Parliament Liaison Office in London. She was delighted to continue her experience with the European Parliament by joining the Edinburgh team!

Giulia speaks Italian, English, Spanish and French. In her spare time, she enjoys attending concerts, writing short stories, travelling and photography.
