Scottish students as EU politicians in Strasbourg
Students from several different Scottish schools, selected via the Rotary competition, participated in the Euroscola day along with other students and teachers from other EU Member States in Strasbourg in February 2017.
24 young people from several Scottish schools participated in Euroscola in Strasbourg - a day where students take over the Plenary chamber of the European Parliament and put on a hat as Europarlamentarians for one day, debating several current issues in different languages.
The students were outstanding and were even complimented by the Parliament chairman of the day on their intelligent answers to difficult questions and their eagerness to converse in French. They were fantastic representatives of their schools and the UK.
It was certainly a very worthwhile trip for the young people and they built their confidence, improved their language skills and their political knowledge of Europe.
