Forthcoming revision of recommendations on smoke-free environments

The Commission has announced a forthcoming update of the current Council recommendations on smoke-free environments. As in all measures to reduce tobacco-related mortality, it is of great importance that a clear distinction be made between different ways of consuming tobacco and nicotine, based on how harmful the product is.

In light of this, I would like to ask:

• 1.In its proposal, will the Commission differentiate between tobacco products for smoking and smokeless tobacco products?
• 2.Can the Commission clarify the timeline for the revision of the Council’s recommendations on smoke-free environments?
