Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the website of the European Parliament's Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee.

The role of this delegation is to monitor and strengthen the relations between the EU and Ukraine and to contribute to the work of the European Parliament's Committees for all Ukraine-related matters, including the implementation of the Association Agreement, the protection of human rights and democratic values, the implementation of recommendations formulated in the course of election observation missions, and the scrutiny of EU spending in Ukraine.

Our delegation furthermore constitutes the EU component of the joint interparliamentary body with the Ukrainian Pariament (Verkhovna Rada), the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee (PAC) that was established in February 2019 and which I have the honour to co-chair together with Member of Ukrainian Parliament Vadym Halaichuk.

Our delegation for the current legislative term was constituted in September 2019, and we met formally with our counterparts in the Verkhovna Rada for the first time on 18 and 19 December 2019 in Strasbourg, on the occasion of the 10th meeting of the EU-Ukraine PAC. We hope to develop further this joint body as an essential forum of political dialogue, focusing on all key topics of common interest, and building on the expertise, experience and active participation of all our Members.

Ukraine has always been a vital partner for the European Union. As chair of the delegation, I am determined to pursue our cooperation, to assist Ukraine in its pro-European strategic course with the best of our capacities and to defend Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

You will find on this website numerous information about our work and more broadly about the multi-faceted activities of the European Parliament in relation with Ukraine. Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us (D-UA@europarl.europa.eu).
