Brussels, 23 February 2021 - "We call on the ruling party and the government of Georgia, as well as all the opposition groups, to immediately take necessary steps to de-escalate political tensions in order to resolve the political crisis which has further deteriorated following the detention of the leader of the UNM party.

Brussels, 22 January 2021 - "Yesterday, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) delivered a historic judgment in the inter-State case of 'Georgia vs. Russia (II)', in the context of the August 2008 war.
This much awaited ruling highlights two important elements.

Brussels, 23 November 2020 - "The second round of the parliamentary elections took place on Saturday in Georgia for the remainder of 17 seats still to be allocated under the majoritarian system.
Once again, we would like to congratulate Georgia, a key ally of the EU, on organising
these elections despite a challenging epidemiological context.

Brussels, 1 November 2020 - "We would like to congratulate Georgia, a key ally of the EU, on successfully organising the first round of the parliamentary elections despite a difficult epidemiological context.
After the signing of a historic agreement between Georgia's main political parties on 8 March, and the subsequent adoption in early summer of an election reform package that took into account some of the OSCE/ODIHR's past recommendations, it was a pivotal moment to assess the commitment of both authorities and political parties to uphold democratic processes and
the rule of law.
Brussels, 28 October 2020 - "I strongly condemn the continuing violence between Armenia and Azerbaijan, disrespecting the ceasefires agreed on 10, 17 and 25 October, and offer my deepest condolences for the lives that have been lost. Attacks on civilian population centres are totally unacceptable and must stop immediately and agreements made must be kept.
I urge both sides to halt all military actions, abandon inflammatory rhetoric and work with the Minsk Group Co-Chairs in order to re-start substantive negotiations as soon as possible.

Brussels, 27 September 2020 - "We are greatly concerned about today's renewed escalation of violence on the line of contact, which, according to reports, has yet again led to the deaths of military personnel and civilians.
We express our deep condolences to the families of the victims. We call for an immediate halt to these military confrontations.
