Prochaines réunions AGRI - 2021

Dans le contexte de la maladie de coronavirus (COVID-19), le président du Parlement européen a annoncé un certain nombre de mesures visant à contenir la propagation de l'épidémie et à sauvegarder les activités essentielles du Parlement.

Les mesures de précaution n'affectent pas les travaux sur les priorités législatives.

Les réunions se déroulent avec une participation à distance pour les membres (être en mesure de voir et d'écouter les débats, de demander la parole et d'intervenir dans la réunion). Les autres participants sont invités à suivre les réunions via le webstreaming.

Suite à ces décisions, les prochaines réunions de la commission AGRI se tiendront à Bruxelles par visioconférence:

    • 21 mai 2021, 9.00-9.15
    • 26 mai 2021 - Annulé -
    • 15 juin 2021, 9.00-12.00 et 13.45-16.15 et 16.45-18.45

Members of the AGRI Committee were voting on a draft opinion - Rapporteur Mr Pär Holmgren (Greens /EFA) to ENVI on 8th EAP. AGRI Members had tabled overall 231 amendments. The Rapporteur had been able to produce 17 compromise amendments on Articles and 9 on Recitals.

AGRI voted on MEP Álvaro Amaro Opinion to INTA on trade related aspects and implications of COVID-19. Through this vote, the Committee should highlight the socio-economic importance of European agriculture and agri-food. Members also stress the resilience of the sector towards a sharp economic downturn caused by the covid19 pandemic, and its critical contribution to EU exports and economic recovery.

The geographical indications recognition enables consumers to trust and distinguish quality products while also helping producers to market their products better.

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development held a debate with Mr Janusz Wojciechowski, Commissioner responsible for Agriculture, following the presentation of the Action Plan for the development of EU organic production as one of the main action of the EU 2030 Biodiversity Strategy and the Farm to Fork Strategy.
