D-US meeting of 7 April 2025
Members of the Delegation for relations with the United States met to discuss the latest developments in EU-US relations. The next meeting is scheduled for 8 May 2025 and will be organised jointly with the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China.
The European Parliament's delegation for relations with the United States was in the US capital from 9 - 11 April for talks with representatives of the US Congress.
Members of the delegation held an exchange of views on the Transatlantic Economy Report 2025 with Mr Daniel S. Hamilton, Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Members raised questions about the impact of the new US Administration's policy on transatlantic trade and the reaction by US business, the compliance by US tech companies with EU digital legislation, as well as the way forward for EU-US relations, among other points.
