Organisés par les départements thématiques, les ateliers permettent aux députés d'interroger des experts et de débattre avec eux sur des thèmes touchant aux travaux parlementaires ou à des questions d'actualité. Les ateliers, qui ne sont pas forcément publics, peuvent se tenir lors des réunions de commission.

This workshop will explore possible conclusions and recommendations on the DSA and DMA, and gather factual evidence on the expected effects of the regulation of online intermediaries. The discussions of the workshop will feed into the DSA and the DMA reports of the IMCO committee, setting out the Parliament’s political response. Further information on the workshop, including the agenda, will be published here soon.

This workshop will focus on the problem of missing trader fraud and carousel fraud. Experts will give an overview of the extent of the problem and the impact of missing trader fraud on the EU budget. Questions on how to improve the current VAT system will be answered and speakers of different institutions will join and give potential solutions and recommendations on how to fight missing trader fraud.

The Pharmaceutical Strategy for Europe adopted by the EC on 25/11/2020 is based on legislative and non-legislative action. It will create a future proof regulatory framework and support the industry in promoting research and technologies that actually reach patients. It will also take into account the weaknesses exposed by the coronavirus pandemic. In this context, the ENVI Health Working Group will bring together different external experts for exchanges of views.

To achieve climate neutrality by 2050, the EU has adopted a more ambitious EU-wide, economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 55% by 2030 compared to 1990. Among the proposals for revisions of relevant legislative measures to deliver on the increased climate ambition is the review of Emissions Trading System (ETS) and its extension to the transport sectors. The workshop should prepare for the upcoming legislative package of proposals in June 2021.

On Monday, 10 May 2021, Policy Department C, at the request of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) will organize the Workshop on “The role of education in preventing violence against women”.

Strategic Sovereignty (or Autonomy) for the European Union appears to be its ability to decide and act according to its own rules, principles and values. The latter include the promotion of multilateralism, respect for the rule of law, democracy and human rights, openness in trade relations. Given rapidly shifting global geopolitical and technology trends, and the seeming fragmentation of the multilateral order, the EU is being forced to strengthen its own position in the international arena.

The PETI Committee has requested the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs to organise a Workshop on LGBTI+ rights in the EU to discuss the situation of LGBTI+ persons notably as they emerge from the petitions received by the EP, to examine the new Strategy on LGBTIQ rights recently presented by the Commission and to address the problem represented by the obstacles to the free movement of Rainbow Families through a dedicated study.

Workshop on 'New avenues for the Commission Rule of Law report: From reporting to enforcing the Rule of Law and Union values', organised by the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs

On 16 March 2021, Policy Department C, at the request of the FEMM Committee, organized a workshop on “Applying gender mainstreaming in the EU recovery package”.

A webinar on “EU trade policy: How can FTAs better deliver for SMEs” will take place on Monday, 15 March 2021, 14h00-16h00. INTA Chair Mr Bernd Lange will chair the discussions that will focus on how FTAs can help SMEs internationalise. In particular, the webinar will address the main challenges, concerns and benefits for SMEs doing business in third countries and with respect to internationalisation.

This workshop aims to investigate how the new technologies are already being used in the field of fraud, corruption and malpractice detection, as well as prevention, what are its limitations, and how its use could be improved. Also, on a more theoretical level, it tries to give a glimpse of how data mining and artificial intelligence are able to operate in the budgetary control sphere.
