Workshops
Workshops werden von den Fachabteilungen organisiert und ermöglichen den Mitgliedern, Fragen an Sachverständige zu Aspekten im Zusammenhang mit der parlamentarischen Tätigkeit oder mit aktuellen Themen zu richten und sich mit ihnen auszutauschen. Sie sind nicht zwangsläufig öffentlich, können aber im Rahmen von Ausschusssitzungen stattfinden.

On 13 November 2023, DROI organises a workshop on the forcible transfer and deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia in the presence of experts, including Mykola Kuleba, former Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children's Rights and co-founder of the Alliance for Ukraine Without Orphans and 'Save Ukraine', who has deployed tremendous efforts to bring children back home.
Sanctions are an essential tool to safeguard EU values and interests, but how can the EU enforce them and protect its budget in the process? With a particular focus on the EU-Russia sanctions, this workshop will look at the issue from various perspectives, including trade sanctions, criminalising sanctions circumvention, asset freezing and tracing final beneficiaries of EU funds.
Freight transport accounts for over 30% of transport CO2 emissions and is expected to rise. Hence, the decarbonisation of freight is crucial to meet the European Green Deal objective. Greening cargo operations implies shifting a substantial part of the inland freight carried by road to rail and inlands waterways, and having the relevant infrastructure.

European Union Election Observation Missions represent a highly visible demonstration of the EU’s commitment in supporting democratisation and respect for human rights. On Monday 9 October, the Subcommittee on Human Rights will hold a workshop with two invited election experts to discuss the increasing trend of legitimising elections which are not conducted in a free and fair manner.
On 20 September, a workshop on "Developing countries’ energy needs and priorities under a sustainable development perspective - The specific case of Africa and green hydrogen" took place from 10.30-12.00. The event was chaired by Tomas Tobé, Chair of the Committee on Development.
On Tuesday, 19 September 2023, the FEMM Committee held a workshop on “The differences in Member States' pension schemes with effects on women”, organised by the Policy Department on Citizen’s Rights and Constitutional Affairs.
On Wednesday, 19 July 2023, the FEMM Committee will hold a workshop on “Legal protection and support of orphans of gender-based violence victims”, organised by the Policy Departement on Citizen’s Rights and Constitutional Affairs.
Workshop: Role of cyber in the Russian war against Ukraine: impact and consequences
SEDE in association with the EXPO Policy Department organises a public workshop on 'The role of cyber in the Russian war against Ukraine: its impact and the consequences for the future of armed conflict' on Thursday, 29 June 2023 from 9.30 to 11.00hrs in room SPINELLI 1E2, with external experts.
The workshop will highlight various aspects and perspectives around corporate sponsorship of EU Presidencies, including the follow-up of the EU Ombudsman's recommendations and Council guidelines on the subject-matter.
