On 24 April 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00, the FISC Subcommittee will host a public hearing on “The role of tax in aligning the green transition and competitiveness”.
The Committee on Budgets traveled to Latvia in order to learn more about the budgetary implications of enhancing the EU preparedness, focusing in particular on defence spending, in relation to recent geopolitical shifts. As conflicts do not only materialise in conventional forms but also through hybrid threats, significant financial resources can be required not only as defence spending but also across various domains.
A delegation of six Members of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) and the DASE Chair will travel to Indonesia from 14 to 16 April 2025 to discuss political, economic, trade and investment relations with the EU.
IMCO Members travelled to Italy to gather information on several key areas of their legislative work. The MEPs looked specifically at the implementation of EU legislation at local level and assessed its impact on the business world. They delved into consumer protection issues, and also problems faced by the automotive industry.

On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, the FEMM Committee jointly with the Committee on Public Health held a hearing on “Hearing on Chemical Submission: non-consensual administration of psychoactive substances“.

Is-seduti ta' smigħ jistgħu jsiru b’mod konġunt minn żewġ kumitati jew aktar. Il-biċċa l-kbira tal-kumitati jorganizzaw seduti ta' smigħ regolari, peress li jippermettulhom jisimgħu mingħand l-esperti u jkollhom diskussjonijiet fuq kwistjonijiet fundamentali. Il-workshops jiġu organizzati mid-dipartimenti tematiċi u mill-Unità tal-Prospettiva Xjentifika (STOA) u huma amministrati skont ir-Regolament Finanzjarju. Mhux bilfors isiru fil-pubbliku, imma jistgħu jsiru waqt il-laqgħat tal-kumitati.
