On Thursday, 5 March 2026, to celebrate the IWD 2026, the FEMM Committee in collaboration with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments, organises an inter-parliamentary committee meeting on " Women’s rights and democracy: combating stereotypes, disinformation and violence in the digital age".

The LIBE Committee hosted a Public Hearing on the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) calling for a "Ban on conversion practices in the European Union". The hearing took place with the involvement of the Committee on Petitions (PETI) and the participation of the Committee on Gender Equality and Women’s Rights (FEMM).

On 26 February, the ITRE Committee will hold a Public Hearing on “Horizon Europe 2028-2034: Expert views and consideration”.

The Committee on Regional Development had a presentation of a new study by the Policy Department for Regional Development, Agriculture and Fisheries entitled 'Improving Essential Services in the EU regions: the role of cohesion policy' during its meeting on Wednesday 25 February 2026.

On 25 February 2026, the ITRE Committee held a Public Hearing on the "European Competitiveness Fund". Members had the opportunity to discuss the proposal for the second biggest fund of the next MFF 2028-2034 with a panel of five distinguished experts including the 2025 Nobel Prize Winner in Economics.

This hearing covered the upcoming revision of the Consumer Protection Cooperation Regulation, which governs how EU countries work together to enforce consumer protection rules. Academic experts, representatives from consumer and business organisations, national authorities and the Commission discussed challenges and possible improvements. The hearing aimed to assess whether existing cooperation tools remain effective in addressing cross-border consumer issues and the evolving digital economy.

On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC) will organise a public hearing in preparation for the own-initiative report on the “Feasibility of a 28th tax regime and its potential to support EU competitiveness”.
