On 24 February 2026, the Members of the Legal Affairs Committee met in Brussels to vote on the opinion to the interim report on the proposal for the multiannual financial framework for 2028-2034 (2025/0571R(APP)) and on the report on the United Nations Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships (2025/0233(NLE)). JURI Members also voted on the opinion to LIBE's report on the Commission’s 2025 Rule of Law report – annual report 2025 (2025/2239(INI)).

On 23 February 2026, the Members of the Legal Affairs Committee held an extraordinary meeting in Luxembourg. On the agenda was the annual constructive dialogue held with the Court of Justice of the European Union and an exchange views with representatives of the European Court of Auditors.

On 12 February 2026, the Members of the Legal Affairs Committee held an extraordinary committee meeting in Strasbourg. At this meeting JURI Members considered the draft opinion to IMCO and LIBE's report amending Regulations (EU) 2024/1689 and (EU) 2018/1139 as regards the simplification of the implementation of harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (Digital Omnibus on AI).

The European Parliament Coordinator on children’s rights

Guided by the "best interest of the child" principle, the Coordinator works to ensure the promotion and protection of children's rights in all EU policies and legislation. She seeks to assist citizens experiencing parental child abduction and other cross-border family disputes. She advocates closer collaboration with the judicial and administrative bodies and seeks to promote mediation in cross-border family matters.
