Poslanci sedia zoskupení podľa politických skupín. Tí, ktorí nepatria do žiadnej politickej skupiny, sedia medzi nezaradenými poslancami .

Existujú dva zasadacie poriadky, jeden pre rokovaciu sálu v Štrasburgu a druhý pre rokovaciu sálu v Bruseli. Aktualizujú sa pred každou plenárnou schôdzou.
