Five days ahead of World Water Day, and in view of the 2026 UN Water Conference, the Public Hearing aims to develop recommendations on how to place water at the centre of the EU's international partnerships with countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Invited experts from the UN, civil society, private sector and academia will present evidence about current challenges to and possible solutions for making progress on the SDG 6 concerning universal access to water and sanitation.
The Committee on Regional Development will have a presentation of a new study by the Policy Department for Regional Development, Agriculture and Fisheries entitled "Navigating the European Commission’s MFF Proposal for 2028-2034 - Mapping Risks and Opportunities for Cohesion Policy and Regional Development" during its meeting on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
The Subcommittee on Human Rights will hold a public hearing entitled "Third-country nationals forced to fight in Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine". The hearing is organised in association with the Delegations to the EU-Russia and to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committees.
The public hearing on sovereignty of EU transport infrastructure, assets, and technologies will take place on Wednesday, 18 March during the TRAN Committee meeting.
The Committee on Constitutional Affairs jointly with the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield will hold a hearing on “Democracy and elections in the AI era” on 18 March.
On Thursday 19 March 2026 during the AGRI Committee meeting the Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies will present a new study entitled “Support measures for farmers’ income in different Member States in the context of inflation and rising production costs”
The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) will hold a public hearing on “New market entrants in the banking landscape (‘neobanks’) and their impact on the Banking Union” on Thursday, 19 March 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00.
