EU institutions have fragmented approaches of dealing with ethics. This study provides an overview of transparency and integrity-related elements in the current EU setting. Based on a comparison covering France, Ireland and Canada, it proposes an Independent Ethics Body (IEB) whose objective is to regain and maintain public trust by striving for a high level of integrity and transparency.

The study analyses the impact of pesticides on human health and food security in developing countries and the challenges of controlling the use of these hazardous substances. This study provides a broad perspective on the main trends regarding the use of pesticides in developing countries and analyses the extent to which pesticides banned within the EU are exported. Recommendations are intended to improve all people's access to healthy food in line with UN declarations.
